Happy Holidays (+ a few things I’m looking forward to…)

Wishing you all a wonderful, cozy, light-filled few days. What are you most looking forward to?

Joe and I are driving to Port Angeles tomorrow morning to catch a ferry to Victoria, where we’ll be spending five days visiting my mom and lots of old friends. We’re cooking a salmon dinner on Christmas Eve for my mom along with Joe’s latest specialty, salad with candied walnuts. Then Leah is having the three of us over for Christmas dinner with her and her little boy Neko, which I’m really excited for.

I can’t wait to meet Adam and Antonia’s brand new baby girl, Sasha. And we have a couple gatherings planned with friends in downtown Victoria, including dinner with a very fun crew at Tapa Bar, drinks with my writing buddies from university, and lunch with Robbie and Dan, who I haven’t seen since our Toronto visit in 2009!

I have been craving nature lately, so I’m also looking forward to an ocean walk with Joe along Dallas Road. I haven’t been home for Christmas in five years, so this trip feels extra special.

Happy Holidays, everyone! I’ll be back next week with a new monthly series :)
